It has been quite an active Winter here at the Lemont Park District. Our CORE Fitness and Aquatic Complex officially opened on December 19th and what a smashing success we had! At our 36-hour family open-house event that marked our inaugural weekend, close to 1,000 people experienced The CORE for free.
Since then the CORE has been buzzing
with Open Gyms & Swims, recreational
basketball leagues, pool rentals, daycare, fitness classes, routine workouts and
the registration of over 2,300 CORE
Members!
Without the leadership of Executive
Director, Brian Sullivan, the Lemont Park Board would not have been able to
navigate the challenges of a multi-project referendum that brought The CORE
to realization, as successfully as we
did. This past March, we were saddened to learn that our Executive Director
was leaving the district to accept the
Director's position at the Morton Grove Park District. So we thank Brian for
his service and wish him well in his
new endeavor.
We are proud to announce the
appointment of Louise Egofske as
our Executive Director. Louise brings
20 years of leadership experience
from the operational finance/accounting sector. As many municipal forms of
government are experiencing tremendous financial challenges, the Lemont Park Board is confident that this experience will pay dividends as we continue our journey with one eye on the future and the other on the bottom line.
Now Spring is in the air it’s time to get outside and enjoy the parks! From our new and improved tennis courts to
our recently renovated ball fields, from Centennial Park to Covington North, from the hundreds of programs that are offered in this Memory Maker...we have something for everyone! So grab the family and take time for fun…making everlasting memories!
On Behalf of the Lemont Park Board,
Patrick Sexton, President
At the CORE of the Community
